For the “Divas Revolution”, It’s Now or Never

divas revolutionNikki Bella has been Divas champ longer than anybody. Hopefully that doesn’t last past Night of Champions, and hopefully future championship reigns (and their length) won’t be predicated on who’s banging who.

That said, power and promotion based on who’s banging who is a longstanding wrestling tradition. Triple H ain’t exactly Sam Muchnick, you know.

Nikki Bella’s looks aren’t in question. But her wrestling ability is, uh, minimal. Did you see that armbar she applied Monday?

At least, I think it was an armbar. Supposed to be, anyway.

Charlotte – why don’t they just call her Ashley Flair? – finds herself in an odd position after just three years as a wrestler: She has to carry almost all of her opponents. Nikki Bella has been wrestling eight years. But her ring skills pale in comparisons to Charlotte’s. That was evident Monday.

But the match was OK, because of Charlotte. She’d better get used to it. She’s going to be in the ring with very few peers and a whole lot of projects. But Charlotte’s ability to elevate will keep her at or near the top of WWE’s Divas division for a long, long time. (Please, rename it the women’s division already.)

If that sounds at all familiar, that’s also her father’s career arc. The apple doesn’t fall from the tree.
