Isenberg Reacts: Impact Wrestling “Is This Too Much GFW?”

Are There Too Many GFW Intruders?

impact wrestlingImpact Wrestling is being taken over by Global Force Wrestling and it is obvious. The Knockouts Championship match was interrupted by Tapa and Kong would also come out. Earlier in the night, a 6 man tag team match was won by members of TNA, but it was more about GFW stars than them.

With guys like Austin Aries, Magnus, Bram and other TNA guys that had a really bright future being off of television, it opens up many spots to be filled. My question for this article is this: Is this too much?

TNA never had a problem with depth in their talent pool. It seemed like they never had enough time to get the guys on television each week that deserved it. Hell, Mr. Anderson and Aries would be in a major storyline and then off of the show for weeks at a time. Do they REALLY think bringing more guys in for an invasion angle will help?

Another thing that makes no sense is that no GFW guys are targeting TNA’s WORLD CHAMPION. WWE and WCW’s invasion angle was not excellent, but at least the top dog was involved in the fight. Why would they NOT focus their attention on the guy that is supposed to be the main representation of TNA? TNA is trying to keep EC3 heel, which makes sense. But, they are overshadowing his championship reign because of an invasion of many guys who have yet to hold a world title.

All in all, the storyline COULD be really good, if they go back to logic. Logic tells you that GFW wrestlers are the bad guys and TNA are the good guys. At least that is what they are trying to accomplish. EC3 can fight for his AUNT’S COMPANY, albeit being a heel champion.
