Isenberg Reacts: WWE Smackdown “Tag Team Takeover”

Tag Team Wrestling Heats Up

wwe smackdownIn a nice twist, Smackdown does NOT start off with Seth Rollins or John Cena. Hell, it did not start off with Roman Reigns or Dean Ambrose. The WWE Tag Team Champions kick it off, which brings out The Dudley Boyz and Prime Time Players stating their case for a championship match.

Devon and Bubba Ray begin to take it to Darren Young in the ring, slowing the pace down with a neckbreaker and German suplex combination. Locking in a headlock, Bubba gets back into the ring and punches away and connects with a few elbow shots to the back of his head. Titus gets the hot tag, connects with a big corner splash and a body slam. He looks to finish off Bubba, but he hits an elbow and then Dudley’s hit a 3D out of nowhere for the win.

I liked how Smackdown started with a focus on the tag team division. I would not have booked the finish of the match that way, but Bubba and Devon are automatically back to being on of the best. It just seemed that all it took to knock out Titus was an elbow? I would have had The New Day interfere and continue to keep PTP in the mix without suffering a loss. They still get a shot at their titles again, so why give them a match to lose in immediately?

Stardust Aligns With The Ascension

The Ascension and Stardust align themselves and take out Neville before the match starts. Cosmic Wasteland is a thing now. Okay, I do not hate this because at least they are trying. WWE is trying to do something with Stardust and The Ascension. They are talented guys and I am curious to see if they actually do something with these three guys, or if they are relegated to WWE Superstars matches every few weeks.
