Seth Rollins comes out and talks about Sting. He calls Sting out and wants to know about his statue. He talks about being better than Triple H, one day. Stephanie McMahon comes out and says that he needs to stop talking about her husband.
She says he is the man and Sting is getting in his head. He calls out Sting and gets John Cena. He says he is going to find out how expendable he is. He says Stephanie McMahon will make Seth Rollins’ life miserable. He calls him unbelievably talented, but he is a conceited ego maniac. He says he is not friends with The Authority and they do what is best for business. John Cena invokes his rematch clause at Night of Champions.
This was very expected. Seth has done it all, right? He has faced legends, beasts, former champions and young talent. At Night of Champions, he faces John Cena and STING. There is a reason why he is champion right now. The guy is so talented and is getting great opportunities. He has not faltered whatsoever. I liked the ending. They kept it simple and spotlighted a big issue. It plans the seeds, even more, with Seth and Triple H. Months down the road, this could be an excellent payoff. Hell, could they drag it to WrestleMania?
All in all, Raw showed lack of direction and creativity. They are relying on rematches from SummerSlam and have yet to develop something meaningful for guys like Owens, Cesaro and others. Where was Randy Orton? Sheamus? Paul Heyman? Many empty pieces tonight and really showed that they have not made up their mind on many things moving forward. Why can’t Owens go for the IC Title? Or even Cesaro?
