A British Point of View: WWE – “You have failed this city!”

Also, I’m a big ‘Arrow’ fan so I’m well aware that this view will appear slightly biased but I believe Amell was extremely dignified in his actions on RAW. Also, in the age of comic book TV shows and movies being at an all time high, this is a very smart move by WWE.

WWE’s major fan-base is children, children by large love comic books and heroes, therefore their interest levels in the ‘Green Arrow’ at SummerSlam will be high. I myself can’t wait to see what Amell does at SummerSlam and whether he’ll have an elaborate ‘Green Arrow’ oriented entrance.

I understand that celebrity involvement isn’t always the wrestling purist’s biggest desires these days but I for one am appreciating the effort from WWE going into this storyline. We’ve had great comic book style artwork to keep us up to date on the storyline and I’m sure they’ll be more to come next week.

I also have a massive amount of respect for Stardust continuing this storyline as there was obviously talks that his character would change in recent weeks after the unfortunate passing of his Father. Maybe his character might alter after this story but as long as he’s enjoying playing his character and they give him opportunity to showcase his abilities then I’ll be happy for him.

Are you happy with Stephen Amell being involved in this angle or would you rather WWE have gone in a different direction? Send me an email at [email protected], tweet me @BeansOnToastUK or comment below.

Be sure to check out IWC Radio which I host every Friday where we will break down this week in WWE, which I’m sure will include discussion on this angle going into SummerSlam. Our new website is currently in the process of being developed (www.iwcradio.com) but in the meantime, you can gain access to our show through our Twitter feed @TheIWCRadio.
