Isenberg Reacts: Impact Wrestling “New Champions Mean Change”

BDC Vs. The Rising

impact wrestlingThis feud has lacked importance. With members of the BDC leaving, seemingly on a weekly basis, I felt that Drew Galloway was short handed, as well as MVP. It was hard to keep a consistent and intriguing story each week. I give credit for these two guys for trying to keep it up, but it just did not feel important to me.

Drew and MVP are top notch talents in their own way. Drew is more of a ring technician, while MVP knows how to work a crowd.

Either way, I do think both guys have a future ( if TNA does) in this company and able to compete for world championships.

Making a Gimmick Into Gold

TNA World Heavyweight Championship match featured Kurt Angle vs. Ethan Carter III. As much as people love to complain about the booking of a wrestler and the mistakes that are made, TNA made very few mistakes with EC3. From the first day he appeared in TNA, he has been viewed as a star. I will admit that EC3 was not the best pure wrestler in the world in October of 2013, but he did not need to be. He needed to develop a gimmick that would have consistency at the top of the card, even if he is not able to compete for the world championship until 600 plus days after his debut.

EC3 is a prime example of a guy working his butt off to make a gimmick work. He bought into the idea of EC3. The music, the trunks and the bodyguard all were pieces of his development. How do you know when a guy is over? When the crowd chants his name, in good or bad, over Kurt FREAKING Angle.

Ethan Carter III is your new TNA World Heavyweight Champion and there could not be a bigger moment in TNA than doing it against one of the best we have ever seen in the ring. Well done, TNA.
