Brock Kicks off Raw
Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar kick off Raw, to show what happened three months ago and last week. Paul Heyman tells us that The Authority told him that Brock Lesnar has to apologize.
Brock Lesnar shakes the hand of JBL and gives Michael Cole a noogie, heading back into the ring. The crowd cheers and Paul Heyman cuts an incredible promo regarding Seth Rollins and his future against Brock Lesnar. The cadence was fantastic, as the rhyming was not cheesy and just the right amount.
You cannot teach how Paul Heyman cuts a promo. There is no way to script it. There is no beating Paul Heyman on the mic. Brock Lesnar at Raw is a sight and Paul Heyman makes it feel like you are witnessing something extremely important.
Dean Ambrose vs. Kane
Kane hits a side suplex and then takes some shots to his back. He throws Dean into the corner and punches away. Ambrose fires back with some chops, but runs right into a right hand. Ambrose hits a cross body and then both men head to the outside. Kane throws him back in and gets kicked and a leg drop from the middle rope. Kane throws him into the steel steps heading into a commercial break.
Ambrose hits some head butts and gets hit with a side slam for a two count. Kane hits a DDT and another two count. High elbow by Ambrose and he sets going with a swinging neckbreaker. He connects with some elbows and a missile dropkick, able to send him to the outside. He hits a diving elbow to the outside and they both get back. Ambrose stops a chokeslam and tries to hit Dirty Deeds. Seth Rollins’ music hits and out comes the champion. Kane tries to chokeslam him and Ambrose takes out Rollins. Kane chokeslams him from the top and picks up the win.
It looks like Seth Rollins is going to try and get The Authority back onto his side. He helps out Kane in a pretty good match. The chokeslam from the top was brutal, but I am not going to let one move and an interesting turn in the storylines take away from this. Kane can still go, but the black dress pants and his look sucks. This is a very smart development. I just hope that he tries to get them back, only to backfire and have to find a “bodyguard.”
