Isenberg Reacts: WWE Money in the Bank “The Future For Owens, Reigns and Rollins”

Millions of Dollars, Millions of Dollars

wwe money in the bankMoney in the Bank featured one championship change, as Titus O’Neil and Darren Young became WWE Tag Team Champions. Dethroning New Day, Prime Time Players pick up the titles and will get a much deserved push on a consistent basis.

I was surprised that WWE pulled the trigger on them this early in their return, but I think it is the right call. They have an established heel tag team in New Day. Those guys are not going anywhere anytime soon. What better way to build a face championship team than to beat the guys that EVERYONE hates? This stops the marks from cheering the heels just because they are heels. This gives a new team a big push and to see if they can continue their progression.

One thing I really enjoy is how natural both guys are together. Titus explodes as soon as he gets into the ring and that’s exactly what he needs to do. Darren Young will always be a consistent performer in the ring and will be a polarizing figure outside of it. The best part if that WWE did not use the homosexual publicity for Darren Young to get over. He got over because of his talents and not because of a publicity move. I appreciate that and feel like there is much more coming from this feud.

WWE Divas Championship

Paige and Nikki Bella fought for the WWE Divas Championship at Money in the Bank. Nikki slams Paige into the barricade, then she rolls her in and tries to score a pin very quickly. Paige kicks her in the face, but Nikki connects with some elbow shots. Paige tries to lock in the PTO, but Nikki reverses it. Paige blocks Rack Attack before hitting Ram-Paige. Nikki kicks out at two and the match goes on.

Paige and Nikki spill to the floor from the top rope, as Brie comes in and switches places. Paige reverses a move and pins her for the victory. Brie reveals the switch in front of the ref and Paige goes after her, throwing her to the floor, but Nikki runs in and hits Rack Attack for the win.

Smart. Very smart booking tonight. The fans all want Paige to win. This gets her over even more and the fans not getting what they want is a great way to keep her hot. I actually think she finally gets the title at Battleground. They could hold off until SummerSlam, but I think bigger things will overshadow her win on that event.

Nikki and Paige work really well together in the ring. Both seem to be hitting their strides and are focused more on the execution of the move over the actual creativity of it. Sometimes, you need to simplify things and WWE did that tonight with a twist for the finish. Keep this going for both Divas sake.
