WZ Mailbag: Will The Shield Reunite?, Response to Michelle Beadle Comments, Evolution in the Hall of Fame, Orton & More

file_197097_0_LowKiWhy didn’t WWE give Low Ki, who wrestled there as Kaval, a chance to succeed, despite winning NXT Season 2, when they had him?

The same reason they don’t give so many other wrestlers a chance to succeed…WWE Creative didn’t think he had the ‘it’ factor. If WWE decides that you don’t look like a star then you’re not a star. They didn’t role with his persona, didn’t see much of him, didn’t have future plans for him so they wished him the best in his “future endeavours”.

Is it difficult being a pro wrestling writer? what do you enjoy most about it? What is the most challenging aspect of the job?

Like any other job, it certainly has its up and downs. It could be very difficult to think of new ideas to write about. You want your work to be fresh, innovating, and controversial. Think about it, would you rather read an article about why John Cena is overrated or an article about Cena being the biggest heel in the WWE?

It certainly does have its better moments though. I have met and worked with some many great people in the business and have made some great friends who understand what it takes and are willing to do anything to prove themselves (shout out to Dan Federico and Sherron Watson). Not to mention the fact that you are highly respected in the field.

There are, however, many low points. A big one is dealing with negative feedback. Although it made me a better writer (and I thank you for that), there is no denying some feelings were hurt. Another would be breaking through in the IW community as there are literally thousands of wrestling websites out there. Obviously I broke out from the pack but there are so many others out there trying to do so. The biggest one has to be not enjoying wrestling as a fan anymore, we constantly have to analyze the shows instead of enjoying it like normal fans do. Even though the job isn’t easy, I wouldn’t change it for the life of me.
