Ryback vs. Rusev
Ryback and Rusev slug away to kick off the match. Ryback follows with a vertical suplex, but Rusev slams him into the ringpost. Afer break, Ryback breaks free from a bear hug and both men strike back and forth with one another. Ryback suplexes him and goes for a splash, but Rusev gets his knees up and charges the corner.
Ryback hits a spinebuster and then sets up his Meathook. Rusev is able to roll outside and he grabs a chain and bashes Ryback in the face., but Rusev grabs his steel chain and knocks out “The Big Guy.” He applies The Accolade and stands tall.
Ryback got plenty of offense in tonight and made Rusev look vulnerable. Not that I am against this at all, but I feel like Rusev needs more of the offense tonight, especially since he is actually in a match on Sunday. Ryback is interesting to me because he is not hated right now by the WWE Universe.
If they try and push him again, will he get booed like before? I think that is a strong possibility, so it could be a “lose-lose” situation. Rusev showed dominance at the end of the match, which is all that really matters a few days before a Pay-Per-View.
Kofi Kingston defeated Cesaro
A quick match with two performers in the tag championship match on Sunday. There is no way WWE puts the titles on The New Day, is there? My biggest issue is that we have seen Big E and Kofi over and over and over again. Why not have Xavier Woods perform in the ring? Is it because he is not a WWE product? Is it because he does not have big “splash” or “power” moves like Kofi and E? This is the problem. We know what match to get from Kingston. We know Big E is limited, yet still an effective big guy. We know what is going to happen in a few months.
