Isenberg Reacts: WWE Smackdown “How To Fix Developing Feuds”

Sheamus vs Neville

wwe smackdownNeville kicks Sheamus after some early taunting, then Neville hits a somersault dive over the ropes. Neville tries to get another splash move, but Sheamus rolls away to avoid Red Arrow. Sheamus comes back with a fireman’s carry slam on the floor.

After the break, Sheamus has Neville in a head lock. Neville escapes, hits some kicks and then a standing moonsault for two. Neville continues the offense with a corkscrew moonsault from the middle rope. Neville gets caught up in the ropes by Sheamus. Neville reverses a White Noise and gets a close pinfall.Neville connects with some kicks and clotheslines to send Sheamus to the outside, but Sheamus picks him up and slams Neville on the commentary table and gets disqualified.

This was a really good match and one that I would love to see develop into something more than a “one-off.” Neville continues to impress me with his agility and his concentration on getting over with his wrestling ability. His personality will come in time, but he is certainly impressive. He reminds me of when John Morrison came into the WWE. He had a lot of flash, but you did not know much about him. WWE kept him simple at first and then began to develop more of his personality through a tag team.

As for Sheamus and Dolph, they continue to capitalize on their pre-existing popularity to make a really good mid card feud. Unfortunately, the gimmick of “Kiss My Arse” is stupid and lame. Why would you not have some stipulation like a Street Fight or Falls Count Anywhere? Give these guys all the tools to do more than just be a wrestling match in the ring. Sheamus needs to be booked like a warrior, a fighter. Ziggler sells better than the best of them.

New Day defeated Los Matadores

I guess all that I could really think about here was “Where are the Prime Time Players?” Isn’t this the team we want to see? They have not killed it completely like they did with these two already. New Day, heel or face, just does not do it for me right now. Maybe, just maybe, they can change my mind.

Fandango defeated Adam Rose

Another WWE Superstars match on WWE’ two big shows. Nothing against either of these guys, but come on. Instead of seeing completely developed talent, we get these two floating gimmicks with no real importance or interest.
