Have We Seen The Best of Daniel Bryan Already?

Have we seen the best of Daniel Bryan?

daniel bryanWhat a story this is becoming. The story of Daniel Bryan, who is arguably the most over superstar in a decade, has more health concerns. Nobody boos him. Everybody loves him. The guy got over with the crowd long before CM Punk left the company and opened the door for him last year. He was over at WrestleMania 28, the next night and then a year later at 29.  His biggest moment came a little over a year ago. The night in New Orleans sparked an incredible moment, or two. Daniel Bryan defeated Triple H, Batista and Randy Orton in a span of 3 and a half hours. Isn’t it more impressive than Chris Jericho defeating Stone Cold and The Rock in one night? Come on, WrestleMania over Vengeance. This is simple logic.

Have we seen Daniel Bryan at his peak? You cannot get any higher than where he was at the Superdome. Since then, his career has been complex. From injury to return, Bryan still remains one of the best faces the company has. I cannot blame WWE for being cautious with him because he is a valuable piece to their roster. The guy has a natural and organic connection to the crowd. In a time where not many faces have that, Daniel Bryan stands out.

I don’t think he ever gets back to that level. Every star reaches one spectacular moment and only few stand out in history as one of the greats. Did Michaels have a bigger moment than his first championship victory at WrestleMania? He lost to Austin, X-Rated and all, and then was gone for a while due to back injuries. Even though he won championships and put on even better matches after his return to the ring, THAT was his big moment. Crying in the middle of the ring with the belt in his arms is the moment I remember most from him.

What was The Rock’s defining moment at WrestleMania? He was champion heading into X-7, but it was more about Rock/Hogan that really solidified his legacy. Coming back made him more of a superstar in all realms of entertainment. He has nothing left to prove, even though I always enjoy seeing him in a WWE ring.
