Rusev and John Cena Goes Face to Face
Rusev comes out fired up and hot, talking about being undefeated (wrong) and the United States Champion. He tells the fans not to chant for the USA. He says he should be the champion and WWE gives him a man from the past to fight. He calls John Cena a wrestler from the past, saying he does not belong in the ring with him.
John Cena says he has been holding onto the championship before they were mature. He gets fired up and says that he is not a guy of the past. John Cena says that he wants to fight him right here and right now.
Lana says for Rusev to not waste his time on John Cena. John Cena looks ready to fight and the champion escapes from the ring, walking away and not fighting.
Ah, John Cena reminds us why he is still the face of the WWE. The promo he cut was excellent. You can see the passion sweating out of his body and he continues to do everything that WWE asks of him. I am not sure if Rusev is ready, but he better get ready. This is his big opportunity to shine and a guy like John Cena can get the best of you or can make him look embarassing. We shall see if he rises to the occasion, but I really like that they are giving him a test run at Fast Lane. If it works, you can easily see Rusev getting a championship match in 2015.
The Ascension defeated Gold and Stardust
Konnor and Stardust carry the early portions of the match. Things slow down with a headlock and then hit kicks Stardust on the mat. Viktor gets back in with some quick shots and then Konnor comes back in to slow things up even more. Goldust gets the tag and then hits a clothesline and then a shot to his face. He hits a kick on his temple and then unloads more punches. He hits a powerslam and then goes after Konnor. Stardust gets a tag and then Konnor shoves him off the ropes. Goldust gets knocked out and they hit Fall of Man for the win.
Well, it looks like the brothers are going to split up sooner rather than later. Goldust looks very upset he was blind tagged and this led to the loss. I really think that WWE needs to capitalize now. It may be too late, but I do think they need to get Cody out of the makeup and back to himself. Good opportunities await for him and even better ones await for The Ascension. They get better each week. PLEASE GIVE ME A LONGER MATCH!
Seth Rollins Issues Open Challenge
Seth Rollins talks about his performance at the Royal Rumble. He issues an open challenge and says that nobody can compare to him. Ryback comes out and gets beaten down by the security team. Erick Rowan comes out and Rollins is able to kick him in the head. Alas, Dolph Ziggler comes out and attacks Rollins. Seth and the security team escapes without much damage.
That was it? REALLY?!
