THE REVIEW: WWE Royal Rumble 2015 – Featuring a Complete Breakdown of the Single Worst-Booked Match in WWE History

Bray and Bryan had a good minute of action before Fandango, Tyson Kidd and Stardust came out to remind us how shallow the WWE roster is.

The crowd was polite to DDP, who blew up quickly (the guy is 58) but had three nice spots with the Diamond Cutter. BANG!

And then Bray Wyatt eliminated Daniel Bryan.

You have to hand it to them: trying to get the heat on Wyatt was a solid idea. Unfortunately, all they did was – and if you were alive in 2014 and have half a brain you knew this was coming – put heat on the REST OF THE ROYAL RUMBLE MATCH.

Daniel Bryan - WWE Royal RumbleSo here’s my question. Why put Daniel Bryan in this match if he’s not going to win? Why bring Daniel Bryan back AT ALL?

As far as the fans knew, he was out indefinitely. WWE HAD AN EASY OUT! Just don’t bring Daniel Bryan back, don’t announce that he’s cleared to compete – don’t mention him at all until February, and nobody would have batted an eye at Roman Reigns winning this match. Instead they brought him back to TV, marched him around the ring, reignited a half-ass program with Kane, and then had…him…lose.

HE WASN’T EVEN ELIMINATED BY KANE!

Awful.

Goldust. Kofi Kingston. Adam Rose. Big E. Jack Swagger. Titus O’Neil. WWE followed up Daniel Bryan‘s elimination with a stream of apathy. Kofi Kingston’s “big spot” of the year was being caught by the Rosebuds. It certainly is a New Day…

They did attempt to pit the Dust brothers against each other, but as they haven’t done anything meaningful with them in months, and the crowd -you guessed it – JUST SAW BRYAN GET ELIMINATED, they barely popped.
