Isenberg Reacts: Impact Wrestling “Feast or Fired Shakes Things Up”

Gail Kim and Havok Battle It Out

impact wrestlingTwo of the most interesting Knockouts in TNA do battle. The size advantage is just ridiculous, so it is hard to really suspend my belief for the entire match.

Havok stomps Gail in the corner and elbows her, then Havok slams her on the mat. Gail connects with some forearms, but her offense stops there. Havok hits some knees to her face and Gail kicks her back.  Havok shakes it off and hits her a few more times, then the referee calls Havok back but she gets in his face and shoves him down.

He rings the bell as Havok hits a reverse electric chair drop into the timekeeper’s table, then she throws Gail in the ring and goes for a Harlot Slayer but the lights go out.

Out comes Awesome Kong. Havok hits her in the face and tries to take her down off the ropes. Kong clotheslines her out of the ring.

If this was booked later in the night, I would like it a little more. I am just against the idea of two matches, back to back, ending in Disqualification. I do not understand why they would pair these two segments together. As for the actual storyline, if the rumors of Havok gone from TNA are any indication, this could be short-lived. I look forward to seeing their encounter.

Eric Young’s Heel Turn

For weeks, I have been thinking about how to critique Eric Young turning heel. First, I was completely against it because Young has this natural connection with the crowd. The fans know how good he is in the ring and how much dedication he has to TNA. I was in strong favor of him turning heel because TNA needed a shock for their new home on Destination America. Young is a guy that you would never think turning, but he did.

Right now, after his tag team win with Low Ki against Roode and Angle, I can see that this might work. Eric Young needs to be the smart heel. He needs to be booked like CM Punk. Make him undersized, but smart and ahead of the curve. Young has the skills when speaking. He also has the voice to sound cocky and arrogant. I am more in favor of this than I am against it. They have to tread carefully and realize who their biggest money maker is, though.
