Isenberg Reacts: WWE Raw “Garbage Finish To Average Night”

WWE Intercontinental Championship Match

wwe rawBad News Barrett punches away at Dolph Ziggler and hits a suplex. Dolph drops him with a dropkick, but Barrett kicks Dolph in the stomach. Barrett locks him up with a sleeper hold and then he begins to attack Ziggler. Dolph rolls him up and picks up the win. After the match, Barrett throws him into the barricade and then once more. He throws him into the table and then into the steps.

The assault continues with some shots to the head and then launches him into the ring post. He throws him again and again until Ziggler is barely on conscious. Kane appears on the stage and says it is a 2/3 Falls and Barrett sets him up for the Wastleland. Barrett picks up the second fall and it comes down to the third. We head to a commercial break as Dolph looks like he cannot get back up.

The third fall starts with Barrett hitting a big boot and another Wasteland. Dolph gets tied in the ropes and suffers another boot. Barrett continues the assault throughout most of the match until Ziggler comes back with a corner splash and a neckbreaker. Barrett reverses the offense for a Winds of Change and a two count. Dolph hits a Superkick, and then kicks Kane. Barrett hits Bullhammer and picks up the win.

I can watch these two guys wrestle all day. I am not sure if Barrett is best as a heel or as a face. His gimmick is SO OVER, but will it be as good when he is supposed to be booed? WWE desperately needs good heels right now. Aside from Rollins and Wyatt, Barrett is the next full-time guy in line. This could do better for him in his career than as a face who is behind guys like John Cena, Daniel Bryan, Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and more. I love that Barrett has gotten in great shape and is a little quicker in his skill set. He seemed smoother and with more intensity from move to move.

The Ascension defeated Local Jobbers

Another squash victory for the new tag team on the main roster. They hit Fall of Man for the victory.

The only good thing was that they got to speak a little before the match. What is the point on bringing them up to the main roster and not having them compete against talent better than what is on NXT? Hell, they are taking huge steps backwards in terms of competition.
