The Miz vs. Jimmy Uso
The Miz and Jimmy try to feel the other out and Miz gets the upper hand. He hits a few kicks and punches, but Jimmy hits a clothesline and then runs around the ring to catch him. He hits Miz’s face on the apron and then hits a clothesline. Jimmy hits a Samoan Drop and then Miz slides to the outside. Jimmy chases after him and tosses him into the barricade.
Miz pleads and says that he can help him and his family. Miz offers his hand and Jimmy kicks him in the face. He hits another big kick and then heads to the top rope. He hits a massive splash and then picks up the win.
I saw something tonight. I saw Jimmy Uso really evolve his character. I am a big fan of The Uso’s and think they are the most consistently entertaining tag team in the WWE. With the help of this storyline involving The Miz and Jimmy Uso, WWE is really giving him a chance to break out and be different than his brother. They do NOT need to break up, but we need to see their differing personalities to keep fresh.
Tag Team Main Event
Dolph Ziggler and Seth Rollins starts things early. Reigns gets the tag and Rollins is able to get to Big Show. Reigns punches Big Show in the stomach. The World’s Largest Athlete sends him onto the mat and Seth gets back in. He kicks his former partner and then Reigns flips him over with an arm drag takedown.
After the break, Rollins begins to work on Ziggler. He kicks him a few times and then Big Show gets back in. He hits a big chop to his chest. Show hits a side suplex and gets a two count. Big Show gets hit with a dropkick an a Fameasser from Dolph. The hot tag is near and finally Roman Reigns gets in.
Roman Reigns explodes with clotheslines and sends Rollins into the corner. He hits another big clothesline and then hits a Tilt-a-Whirl Suplex. Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury try to get involved. Seth Rollins uses the distraction for an incredible kick to his face. He tries to powerbomb him, but Reigns fights out of it. Reigns gets caught by Big Show, but Dolph hits a superkick and Roman hits a spear. Rollins is in the ring and spills Dolph Ziggler to the outside. Rollins hits a Suicide Dive onto Roman Reigns and then heads on the top rope. Dolph tries to stop him and Reigns hits a Spear with the distraction.
The main event of Smackdown delivers. Dolph Ziggler takes most of the offense and defense and lets a fresh and healthy Roman Reigns look supreme. I liked seeing a few new moves from Roman Reigns tonight.
This shows me that he is honing his skills in the ring and is continuing to get better. There is no doubt he has the look and has the big opportunity. Now is the time for him to perfect everything else outside of power moves. If he can improve on the small things, add some submission moves and more transitional moves, he will be ready for a main event on the big stage.
