Stars in Progress: Charlotte Falls in Raw Debut, Undeserving Roman Reigns Moves Up, Waiting for Miz & Mizdow to Implode

Stars in ProgressFool me once….

Why did I think the Slammy Awards show would be a solid three hours of entertainment? Every year it’s basically an excuse to supplement real programming with meaningless awards that are forgotten 24 hours later.

Despite my general disinterest in the WWE product, and a lack of anything really appealing about Sunday’s pay-per-view, this week’s Stars in Progress is surprisingly positive. Don’t get me wrong, Raw is awful. But it’s (mostly) not the roster’s fault, and that’s where we’ll find a few of this weeks gems.

Also, shout-out to Ring of Honor, who put on a stand-out show this weekend in New York. The iPPV issues ruined most of the card for me, but the replay was much better. ReDRagon and the Time Splitters got me excited for the 4-way at the Tokyo Dome. I’m not a major Jay Briscoe fan, but he and Cole worked probably the best match of their series; one of the more violent matches in recent memory as well. They came up with quite a few innovative ways to make me cringe.

Watch Final Battle, if you get the chance. Now let’s talk about something less interesting…
