Isenberg’s Reaction: WWE Raw Review “A Huge Letdown From Survivor Series”

WWE Tag Team Championship Rematch

wwe rawStardust gets the early advantage and throws Miz into the corner. Goldust gets into the ring and smacks Miz in the face, followed by an atomic drop. Mizdow comes in and does the same thing. Miz kicks away at Goldust and Stardust gets the tag. He sends Miz to the outside and we head to a commercial break.

The Miz tags in Mizdow and he hits a backbreaker and then a neckbreaker combination. Stardust rings him up onto the top rope. Stardust and Goldust both punch Mizdow in the corner and works on his head. Goldust hits a spinebuster and it looks like The Miz has a concussion on the outside. Stardust continues to slow the pace and apply an armbar. Mizdow hits a chop block and locks in the Figure Four. Goldust breaks it up and Mizdow tosses him to the outside. Stardust gets a big elbow and Miz blind tags himself in. Miz hits Skull Crushing Finale for the win.

The Miz gets the pinfall this time around and he celebrates with both championships. Mizdow did all the damage and then Miz milks the injury throughout. I like how the crowd is really getting behind Mizdow. I felt like the match stalled at times and was not as good as it could have been. It seemed slow in transitional moves and really did not get out of the gates fast enough.

Rusev’s Decision

Daniel Bryan gave Rusev the choice to say The Pledge of Allegiance or to compete in a Battle Royal for the United States Championship. Sgt. Slaughter comes out and leads them into the Pledge. Lana says a few words and Rusev stops her. This leads to Jack Swagger coming out and hitting a suplex and a Patriot Lock. Rusev escapes and takes the title with him.

Rusev did not say the Pledge of Allegiance or compete in a Battle Royal. So, I guess this segment made absolutely no sense. Do we really want to go BACK to Swagger vs. Rusev? What in the hell does that do for Rusev in the long run? what does it do for the short run of Rusev? NOTHING.

Fandango defeated Justin Gabriel

Fandango comes out in all black and he is “new and improved.” He aggressively attacks Gabriel and throws him to the mat. Gabriel gets going, but Fandango clotheslines him inside out. He hits a suplex and then a beautiful leg drop from the top rope to pick up the win.

What is so new and improved with him? He seems more aggressive and more dull. At least he had something that stuck out (his song) to fans before. I really do not know what to say about him right now because I cannot see this going anywhere important. I think he would be a great tag team wrestler. Unfortunately, WWE does not see him as anything more that a lower mid card wrestler at best.
