What To Do With The X-Division Championship
Samoa Joe comes out and says that he is not medically cleared to compete tonight, or for a while. Samoa Joe finally says that he is relinquishing the championship.
So, TNA is put into an interesting situation. What do they do with the championship? I would put a big tournament with many of the real X-Division wrestlers and give us 4 weeks to build a main event for that title.
I really want to see some of the younger guys get an opportunity to showcase their talents. I would also love to see guys like Aries, King and more get an opportunity to reclaim that championship. Either way, I feel TNA knows they need to extend finding a new champion.
Gunner defeated Samuel Shaw
Gunner hits Shaw with a Fallaway Slam on the outside. Shaw hits Gunner with a chair and then Gunner gets the upper hand with chair shots to his back. Gunner gets driven onto the steel steps and Shaw sets up the steps again. Gunner hits a suplex and brings Sam back into the ring. Shaw hits a boot, but Gunner throws Shaw to the mat. Both men are on the top rope and hits a superplex into the steel chairs.
Brittany yells at Gunner and He punches Shaw in the back. Gunner sets up him and hits a powerbomb onto the steel steps. Brittany gets into the ring and stops Gunner from pinning him. Brittany kicks him in the goods and then he grabs her leg. Shaw smacks him with a chair, but Gunner reverses it and hits his finisher into the chairs.
Good match from these two guys. I was invested in what was happening and how it would all pan out. I think Gunner has more potential than Shaw, but Shaw has a more intriguing character right now. Brittany adds a new dynamic for Shaw. They are the perfect pair and I really enjoyed how this match was paced and planned. There were just enough big spots to be good, but not overkill. Gunner and Shaw will most likely continue their feud and I hope it gets creepier on the side of Shaw.
