A New World Champion
Both men feel each other out and Lashley is able to get the upper hand. He connects with a clothesline and then Bobby Roode counters. Lashley applies a hammerlock and then a suplex. Lashley grounds and pounds Roode.
Back from break, Roode gets a boot up and then hits a neckbreaker from the top. He gets a two count. Lashley gets back on top with a body press. Roode ducks and Lashley clotheslines Angle on accident. Lashley hits a spear and Angle is out. Lashley grabs him and Roode kicks out at two. The men go to the outside and Roode escapes another spear attempt. Roode is on the outside and hits a Roode Bomb on the ramp.
A new referee comes in and Hebner counts only two for Roode. Lashley hits a low blow and then grabs his title. Hebner tells him he cannot use it and then clotheslines him. Lashley knocks out Roode with the title and Angle gets back into the ring. Roode kicks out again at two.
Roode elbow Lashley on his shoulders. Lashley grabs the ropes and Roode gets hung up on the top rope. Lashley climbs up top, only to get caught by Roode. Roode reverses Lashley and becomes the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.
The main event was a great match and one that had so much drama attached to it. You never knew who was going to win. There was so much back and forth action with it and really showed that these guys know how to work. As for Roode, he needs new competition. Lashley needs to be able to finally separate himself from MVP and Kenny King. There will be a rematch clause, but how do they book that? If they did not want Roode to win clean over Lashley (not in a roll-up) then how will they book their third encounter?
