Sheamus defeated The Miz to Retain the U.S Championship
The Miz fights out of chops to his chest until Sheamus hits a Backbreaker. Sheamus hits ten chops to the chest, while Mizdow continues to mock it. Miz accidentally punches Mizdow and then Sheamus throws him onto the announce table and back into the ring.
Sheamus hits some hammers to the head and a high running knee. Miz is able to launch Sheamus to the outside. Miz kicks Sheamus in the face and then Sheamus reverses him with an Irish Curse back breaker.
Miz is able to hit his backbreaker and neckbreaker combination for a two count. After slapping him in the face and taunting him, Miz hits a DDT. Mizdow distracts Sheamus and then hits a Skull Crushing Finale. Sheamus hits a Brogue Kick while Miz jumps off the top rope for the win.
Is it because Sheamus has become boring and predictable? Is it because Mizdow is more entertaining than The Miz? Whether either is the right answer, I do believe that Sheamus needs a change to his gimmick. He is too good inside of the ring to let a gimmick that has not evolved in years to slow him down. This should end the feud and Sheamus should put his United States Championship on the line against Rusev. WWE is not going to change his gimmick, so let him fall to the hands of Rusev.
Rusev defeated The Big Show
Big Show unloads some punches and chops to Rusev. Rusev kicks Big Show and then dives at his knee. He works on his knee. Big Show comes back and Rusev hits a suplex. Rusev hits a dropkick and takes down Show. He tries to lock in The Accolade, but Show locks in a submission hold. He wrenchesa t his leg and Rusev just gets to the ropes.
Show gains some momentum and tosses Rusev around the ring. Big Show hits a Spear. Mark Henry comes down for a closer look. Big Show hits a chokeslam and Rusev kicks out. Rusev hits multiple kicks and takes down Show and Henry. Rusev locks in the Accolade for the win.
Solid bout between two of the bigger heavyweights in WWE. I really thought Mark Henry was going to interfere in this match, potentially a heel turn. Luckily, Rusev wins by himself and continues his reign on the larger men on the WWE roster. Rusev needs to go after the United States Championship next. He needs gold around his waist and a two month feud with Sheamus could be just what the doctor ordered for both guys. Some of Rusev’s best matches were against Swagger, who is similar to Sheamus inside the ring.
