Wrestlezone Ranks Every Single Hell in a Cell Match in WWE History – Part 3

The Undertaker vs. Randy Orton
Armageddon ’05

This has to be the most under-rated Hell in a Cell match on this three part list.

Randy Orton Hell in a CellIn the eight years leading up to this, most of the Cell matches featured veterans and main event A-list stars. Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Steve Austin, Mick Foley, etc. Outside of Batista – who I never considered a “rookie” as he’s roughly the same age as Hunter – Randy Orton was the first up-and-comer to step inside the match. He was, all things considered, an unproven act that had been near the top of the card for one year, stepping inside Hell in a Cell against one of the greatest of all time.

At 25-years-old, Randy Orton put on one of the ten best Cell matches with The Undertaker. Think about that. To have that level of charisma, showmanship, and knowledge of story-telling inside the ring; at 25!? Age aside, those two were given the third longest amount of time that Hell in a Cell had ever received, and they managed to fill it with a half hour of fantastic drama and violence.

Plus, who doesn’t love seeing “Cowboy” Bob Orton get busted open?
