Wrestlezone Ranks Every Single Hell in a Cell Match in WWE History – Part 1

Mankind vs. Kane
WWF Raw is War

Two months after his career almost came to an end inside Hell in a Cell, the deranged Mankind stepped back inside the appropriately named “devil’s playground” to face Kane.

raw reactionThis television match was booked as a micro version of the legendary King of the Ring match against the Undertaker, and the whole thing lasted about 8 minutes. They did a smaller version of the table spot off the side of the cage, pulled out the thumbtacks, and eventually Kane demolished him with two Tombstone piledrivers and half a dozen chair shots to the head. Steve Austin came from under the ring to attack Kane, causing a “no contest” finish, and the show ended with a staredown between “Stone Cold” and the Undertaker, who was raised to safety atop the cage by Mr. McMahon.

More proof that wrestling television was better during the Austin Era. Fun fact: this wasn’t the first time these four men brawled in and around Hell in a Cell on Monday Night RAW…
