Ethan Carter III and Tyrus defeated Eric Young and Rockstar Spud
Spud kicks Tyrus a few times in the leg and he gets planted with a headbutt in the sternum. Tyrus hits a massive punch to his heart and then begins to choke him in the corner. Tyrus completely controls him and Carter in the ring. Carter slaps Spud in the face in the middle of the ring. Spud fires back with a big slap. EY get the tag and he hits some punches and dropkicks. Young floats over the ropes and then hits a powerslam. Young heads to the top and hits a big elbow drop. EC3 rolls to the outside and Young hits a Suicide Dive. Spud hits a front flip to take out both men.
Spud goes up top again and Tyrus catches him in the ring. He hits a chokeslam and then chokes him. Young is taken to the outside and Carter pins Spud to pick up the win.
The match was full of big spots and action. The flow and pacing was not perfect, but it was built perfectly for Spud to get the crowd behind him. It seems organic and natural that the fans want to cheer for Rockstar. I love the team of EC3 and Tyrus. They need to win the titles, much like I said a week ago.
The Contract Signing Between Roode and Lashley
Bobby Roode talks about how Lashley has doubt in his mind. Roode talks about barely losing to him and almost pinned him a month ago. Roode talks about wrestling being his only desire. He questions Lashley wanting to be a wrestler or an MMA fighter. Bobby Roode says he is going to fight him with heart and passion.
MVP talks about Lashley being a champion and says Lashley does not want to fight Roode. Lashley grabs the contract and signs it. Roode signs it as well and we have a main event with Kurt Angle as special referee.
TNA has done the right thing. They have built a champion that seems unstoppable. They paired him with a hot face in Bobby Roode, who has always been a fan favorite of mine. Roode is believable enough to beat Lashley. They have given enough time between the first match and now to really build more dramatic elements. There was one thing missing…. Lashley NEEDED to say something here. He needed to talk.
