John Cena and Randy Orton Face Off
Randy Orton breaks down his feud with John Cena and says they are like the Hart/Michaels and Austin/Rock of their time. He says that he can shove the HLR up his ass. Orton says he is going to win and he will savor every second of beating him again.
Out comes John Cena, who says Randy Orton is a Hall of Famer, but a dumbass. John Cena talks about everything going on in Kansas City and Orton needs to not think about 2002. Cena says that was the last time that Orton was relevant. John Cena says he runs the place and hell in coming with him.
Paul Heyman makes his return and heads down the ramp. He talks about the class of 2002, which featured the two men and his client.
Heyman talks about Lesnar being the champion in 2002 and now in 2014. John Cena tries to hit an AA onto Paul Heyman, but Randy Orton gets the better of Cena. Orton hits RKO’s to Cena and Heyman.
An excellent segment here. WWE needed to add this contender’s match with John Cena and Randy Orton. NOW it makes sense and makes the match must see. I loved the history lesson and the intensity of each man. This is why they are so good. Randy and John do NOT need months to build a feud. They completely turned the switch in a week’s matter. Who is NOT interested in this now?
Rusev Crosses The Line
Rusev picks up a win over Big E in a pretty average match. He makes him tap out to The Accolade. After the match, Lana talks about how Big Show is just a circus. Rusev says he is going to rip Big Show’s heart out and he will fail his country. Big Show has a surprise and the American Flag hangs behind him. An American soldier gets in the ring and tries to stop Rusev from ripping down the flag. He gets kicked and security comes in the ring.
I did not expect this whatsoever. WWE knew that it needed to do something to make it seem real. They hit the mute on the announcers and let the crowd and shock set it. You want to believe it was real and it felt like it tonight. Well done. This was different. This was unique. I would have loved to see Big Show come down, but they went very basic and extremely logical. If he came down, it would have felt much more scripted. So, looking back WWE did the right thing by letting the solider take a kick to the head.
Did this cross the line for you? Was this uncomfortable? No and Yes. A good uncomfortable.
Big Show makes his appearance after the match and looks extremely upset. Big Show threatens Rusev and paces around the ring. He says that Rusev has his attention and he will unleash all the wrath.
A Perfect and Shocking Return…
