Title This: Impact Wrestling Reaction “Bobby Roode Contends, Ethan Carter’s Bodyguard is Perfect”

Ethan Carter Has a New Bodyguard

impact wrestling reactionEC3 announces his new bodyguard, who is Brodus Clay. He is now called Tyrus, which is a really cool name for him. EC3 says that “his name is Tyrus” over and over again. EC3 says he is very upset that Bully Ray is in the TNA Hall of Fame. EC3 says that Ray should be dismissed from the Hall of Fame. He panders to the crowd and feeds into their cheers of him not being able to wrestle. Out comes Devon, who looks like he is ready to fight.

Bram attacks Devon with a garbage can lid and has him laying on the ground. Back from break, EC3 gets his hand raised because he beats Devon. EC3 says he found a man that Tyrus can face tonight and start off undefeated.

Shark Boy is seen eating donuts backstage and he heads to the ring. He spits donuts in his face and then Tyrus hits a headbutt and an elbow drop onto him. Tyrus dominates him and picks up the easy win.

I could care less for the match against Shark Boy, but I really dig the fact that TNA is pairing Tyrus with Ethan Carter III. Carter has that “it” factor and I always have been a fan of Tyrus’s work. They are going to be a nice pair together. My booking would be this: Give them a feud with The Wolves. They need some championships around their waist and are different enough to make it work inside and outside of the ring.

Yes, EC3 should be a main event guy right now. The only problem is there are other guys ahead of him on the ladder. You have Roode, Jeff Hardy, Eric Young, MVP, Austin Aries and Lashley that are taking up the spots. It has been one year of winning. I say he needs to have another 5-6 months and wait until a face is champion. This way, Lashley could have his feud with MVP (which is inevitable) and EC3 can face Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy (beating more legends) and getting a shot at the gold. With Tyrus, he can beat those legends without feeling like they are devalued in the grand scheme of things.

Bobby Roode Gets Another Shot at Lashley

Roode and Aries pair off and take each other out of the ring. EY and Jeff lock each other up and Young is taken to the outside. Aries hits some elbows to Jeff and Roode throws him off. They hit each other in the head and EY misses a baseball slide. He nails a suicide dive and the Aries slugs away at Young. Hardy leaps off the back of Aries, knocking out Roode and Young on the outside.

The action continues after a commercial break and AA steals the match. He hits a beautiful neckbreaker and a running dropkick. Hardy tries to roll him up. Young hits a DDT for a two count. Roode and Aries hit a superplex while Hardy powerbombs them all for an excellent move. All four men go up to and Young misses a moonsault right before Hardy misses a Swanton Bomb. Roode hits a Roode Bomb and Aries hits a Brainbuster. Young and Hardy are eliminated.

It comes down to Aries and Roode. Bobby locks in the crossface and Aries counters with Last Chancery. Roode reverses a Brainbuster and catches Aries on the top rope. Roode hits a Roode Bomb for the win. Bobby Roode gets another chance at Lashley.

Excellent match and the right call to face Lashley once again. The pacing of the match was great because it never hit a dead spot. TNA has a great idea of what flows and who you can pair together. Go back and watch this match because it was worth the 30 minutes of television time. If they are giving another shot for Bobby Roode, you HAVE to think he will dethrone Lashley. The main event delivers once again.
