Rusev vs. The Big Show
Big Show comes out of the gates hot, with some chops to his chest and then throws him into the barricade. Big Show hits more chops to his chest. Big Show hits a massive elbow drop and Rusev is retreating to the corner. Rusev throws himself into Show and then kicks Show on the mat.
Rusev takes control with a sleeper hold. The match takes a slow turn and Rusev is in full control. Rusev hits a big kick into the stomach of Big Show and locks in The Accolade. Mark Henry comes down to the ring. Henry clothesline Rusev to cause the DQ. Show and Henry exchange some words and the Russian Flag drops. Big Show and Henry trap him and a Knockout Punch floors the big man.
We had a very entertaining bout between two big men and I did enjoy their match. I was not a fan of the ending. Mark Henry causing the DQ does nothing for me and I feel like the punch to floor Rusev seems so cheap for heels. Maybe there will be another bout and a turn from Henry, but this night leaves the door open too much right now. There needed to be some sort of finish that benefitted Rusev, not the USA.
The Miz defeated Sheamus
The Celtic Warrior controls most of the match. The Miz escapes to the outside and Damien Sandow distracts Sheamus. Miz heads underneath the ring and pops up on the other side. Miz gets back into the ring and Sheamus gets counted out.
Not the best of segments, but WWE is actually utilizing Sandow as a critical piece (even though he is being a stunt double). This is some of The Miz’s more creative and interesting character. Is it falling a little flat because he is facing Sheamus, though?
Brie Bella Gets The Win Over Nikki Bella
Six Divas get some action here in a simple match. NeNe Leakes gets her love and the faces win. Brie springboards from the rope and hits her finisher. All you need to know is this: the steam is completely gone from Nikki vs. Brie
