JBL is the best villain Smackdown ever had. A character so good it almost makes you forget about the veteran he was before “moving to Wall Street”; a successful brawler and tag team legend in his own right. But JBL was where he made his money. JBL was the gimmick that got him the WWE Championship, and took him to the top of the mountain and kept him there. It was the character that MADE John Cena into a gigantic babyface. The limousines, the stacks of cash, the terrible “Cabinet” of back-up stars, the longhorns, private valets; all part of one of the best gimmicks in Smackdown history.
If you need more proof, I dare you to find me one more person in the history of the Blue Brand that was more hated than John Bradshaw Layfield.
