Wrestlezone’s Top 10: The Greatest Superstars in Smackdown History

Edge

WWE Smackdown EdgeEarly retirement happens in the wrestling business, but the world lost a great performer, and an even better entertainer the day Edge was forced out of the squared circle. He’s not dead, but you know what I mean.

Before he became the “Rated-R Superstar” Edge was an accomplished tag team star, and one of the best mid-card talents in the industry. You could put him together with anyone – Christian, Mick Foley, Chris Benoit, Rey Mysterio, Hulk Hogan, etc. – and he would find a way to make magic. A few years on RAW and a career-defining rivalry with John Cena turned him into a main event player, and he took that success back to the Blue Brand to reign as World Heavyweight Champion an astonishing seven times.

There was a time that Smackdown was the superior program, week after week, and it’s because of Edge and a small handful of other stars (all on this list) that made that possible. Hell, his program with The Undertaker alone puts him from and center on this list.
