Rey Mysterio
Rey is easily the most accomplished high flyer in WWE history. He was a star before coming to WCW in the 90’s, and a star before coming to WWE in the early 2000’s, but it was on the Smackdown brand that Mysterio became a worldwide sensation. He found success in the Cruiserweight division, and success in the tag team division – four titles with two Hall of Famers and two future Hall of Famers. He has main evented WrestleMania, defeated giants three times his size, and became a 3-time World Champion.
Due to injury and a lack of creative direction, Mysterio hasn’t been used effectively in years. Personally, I think it’s more than that. When Smackdown was its own brand, and Rey was one of its top stars, he has a place and a purpose. When the split ended, he became just another babyface to push merchandise, mixed in with 40 other guys and girls looking for a spot.
