Title This: Impact Wrestling Reaction “New York City Gold Rush”

New York City Gold Rush

Impact WrestlingMVP defeated Low Ki in a pretty physical match. MVP opens his shirt so Ki and him exchange big chops to the chest. MVP charges into the corner and he ends up hitting a big boot to send Low Ki to the outside. MVP hits a slingshot elbow to the outside and we head to break. Low Ki hits multiple kicks to his chest and then a big kick to his head. A two count and MVP kicks out, turning the tide of the match. MVP reverses a kick and then hits Drive By for the win.

MVP looked really good in this match and was able to keep the speed and intensity of the striking from Low Ki. MVP and Low Ki really made this match multi-dimensional, with some high flying and even a stronger and technical contest. MVP heads to the main event later tonight and makes complete sense. Let the talk begin of him possibly challenging Lashley.

Tajiri defeated Robbie E

The Japanese Buzzsaw starts off fast with fast kicks to his stomach. Robbie E hits a clothesline from the top rope and gets a two count. A submission move is reversed by Tajiri and he hits the green mist. He hits a big kick to his head and heads onto the main event later tonight.

Uh, really? So, TNA has Robbie E in The Amazing Race on CBS. That is a big show, whether you watch it or not. Instead of building him up and making him look important in the company, he loses to a guy who just came back for a few shows. Wow.

Austin Aries defeated Knux

The Menagerie is just a horrible gimmick, plain and simple. Anyways, Aries and Knux try to overpower the other. Aries is impressed the Knux did a little hand stand and then both men pair off again. Finally, Aries is able to hit a few punches and then a running elbow. Knux stops him dead with a big boot and then some elbow drops to the mat. Knux hits a smooth dropkick and then the crowd is getting behind Knux. Aries kicks him in the legs and then attacks with punches up top. After a forearm shot, Aries rolls over and then smacks him in the ears. He hits a Suicide Dive onto The Freak and Knux rolls back into the ring. After a side slam, he gets a two count.

Aries gets going with a few discus forearms and then a running dorpkick into the corner. Aries hits a Brainbuster onto the much larger Knux for the win.

A match that featured two completely different talents worked out very well tonight. I liked to see Knux displaying his athletic abilities in the ring. There was no doubt who was going to win this match, but I was very impressed to see these guys work at such a quick and smooth pace. Knux is very underrated and Aries continues to be the epitome of excellence.
