Title This: WWE Night of Champions Reaction “New Champions Shake Up WWE”

Triple Threat Divas Championship Match

Nikki Bella applies an arm bar and tries to get Paige to tap out. Paige counters with a pinfall attempt. AJ Lee throws Paige and Nikki into the barricade. AJ Lee hits a spinning heel kick and gets a two count. Paige kicks Nikki in the stomach and she falls off of the apron. She grabs AJ Lee and hugs her during the match. She hits a big kick and then multiple head butts. She screams “Why don’t you love me?” and then sends her between the ropes. Nikki hits a knee to AJ’s face and gets a two count.

The action continues and Paige sends AJ to the top. The superplex and powerbomb combination takes all three women out. Nikki hits a Rack Attack and AJ saves the match. She elbows AJ lee in the face and she heads to the outside. AJ Lee grabs her hair and slams her on the mat. AJ turns her attention to Paige and locks in Black Widow. Paige taps out and AJ Lee becomes the new Divas champion.

Paige and AJ Lee continue to swap championship wins, dating all the way back to April. I was surprised to see Paige drop the title. I disagree with the decision because AJ”s best work has come when she was NOT champion. She is better utilized for progressing some of the more important storylines. I think this feud continues. What else can they get out of it, though? Also, Nikki Bella loses with no Authority involved and no Brie Bella. What was the point then? One of the better matches we have seen from these divas

WWE World Heavyweight Championship Rematch

The main event was much different than a month ago. John Cena had many opportunities and looked really strong, but Brock Lesnar looked stronger. The match went back and forth with spurts of offense for Cena. He would hit a few moves and take control only to get overpowered by the champion. Lesnar hit more German Suplexes and focuses on the upper body and neck of his opponent. He hit three consecutive suplexes and then John Cena powered out and applied the STF. He would hit three Attitude Adjustments and look to pick up the win until Seth Rollins comes out and causes the DQ. He takes out Cena and hits a Curb Stomp onto Brock Lesnar. He tries to cash in, but Cena attacks before the match starts. Lesnar ends up hitting Cena with an F5 to end the night.

Complain all you want about the finish, but it was smart. John Cena did not need to win, but he needed to come close. Brock Lesnar still needed to look dominant in the match, which he did. How important does Seth Rollins look right now? I am not sure if Rollins vs. Cena will be where they go, especially since Ambrose vs. Rollins should be inside Hell in a Cell. There is no running or hiding in the cell and would be an incredible match. But, what does WWE do with Brock Lesnar? Do we get another build to another championship match between him and John Cena? Will they also compete in Hell in a Cell? This was not the best option, but the most logical one that does not hurt anyone in the long run. I am certainly intrigued to tune into Raw tomorrow and see where they go from here.
