WWE Night of Champions Predictions: All Titles on the Line, Can John Cena Actually Beat Brock? The “Roman Factor”

I’ve written up my predictions for tonight’s WWE Night of Champions PPV. Share your predictions and thoughts on tonight’s events in the comments section below.

But first…

THE ROMAN FACTOR

roman reignsSo what does WWE do about Roman Reigns having emergency surgery this weekend?

Big Show, Bray Wyatt, Eric Rowan, Luke Harper, Kane, Jack Swagger, and Bo Dallas are the most relevant names without a match. You can now add Seth Rollins to that list. Dallas and Swagger have a program ongoing, and there’s always the option of a random tag team match with Slater Gator, Los Matadores, or a comedy segment with Damien Sandow.

WWE was supposed to announce a Roman Reigns related thing on the WWE Network yesterday, but ended up bailing on the idea – or at least, after an hour of sitting there waiting for an announcement, I turned off the Network and went on with my life. The rumor is that they had a back-up in place for Seth Rollins, but since they couldn’t nail down a plan in time, they announced nothing. I’m guessing Dean Ambrose was the back-up, since he’s supposed to be on RAW tomorrow night anyways, but given that taping wrapped up this weekend they didn’t know if he could fly out at the last second to do the PPV. But again, that’s all speculation.

The way I’d book it, Seth should come out and claim that he put Roman in the hospital. To keep heel, tell the people of Nashville he doesn’t get paid if he doesn’t wrestle, so he declares an open invitation. Out comes Dean Ambrose, the crowd pops, and you have a reason for actually watching this show. The same thing works if they don’t actually have a match.
