#4 – Tyler Breeze
There’s a lot of reasons to hate Tyler Breeze, and that’s definitely a good thing. He’s not the first person to pull off the self-absorbed heel character, and I wouldn’t put him anywhere near the level of a Rick Rude, but he has added some personal touches to the role to make it his own. Streaming his cell phone to the TitanTron was a stroke of genius. Everyone hates Instagram selfies in their social media feeds; Breeze is the “real life” incarnation of pop culture’s worst photographic fad.
What I like about Tyler is that the gimmick more or less stops at the door. Once he gets in the ring and the bell rings, he’s a serious competitor. Sure he takes cheap count-out losses or refuses to compete, but that’s a part of the character, which he owns. But unlike a lot of the more ridiculous NXT gimmicks, Breeze knows when to put down the cell phone and wrestle.
Now…can we PLEASE get a tag team with The Miz going on the main roster?
