Title This: Impact Wrestling Reaction “Is Lashley or Joe The Better Champion?”

Bobby Roode defeated Eric Young

impact wrestling reactionBobby Roode begins the attack with a few suplexes and kicks to his stomach. Roode hits a beautiful spinebuster. Young reverses a move a hits a wheel barrel suplex for two. Young takes a big chance with a moonsault from the top. Roode applies the Crossface and Young reverses it into a pin. Roode gets back on the offensive and both men try a backslide. Young counters with a DDT and then motions for a piledriver. Both men try a few pins and they both reverse it multiple times. Young bridges out, but Roode hits a Roode Bomb for the win.

The match was about eight minutes long. They could have gone 15 minutes with ease and make this a memorable bout. Instead, they still accomplished a really good match with both guys trying to overpower the other. Roode and Young are so smooth and have excellent timing in the ring.

The respect comes in at the end. I wonder if EY needs to turn heel. He looks like a guy that could be a maniac in a new gimmick. I just do not see him as main event material right now. Roode is, and will always, be main event material in TNA.

Homicide is the Number 1 Contender To X-Division Championship

When I look at who should fight Samoa Joe, i look at a guy who has a similar fighting style. DJ Z is one of the best performers, but does not really match Joe. Neither does Crazzy Steve, Low Ki, Manik or Tigre Uno. They all fought in a match, along with Homicide, to determine who faces Joe. Homicide gets the he hits a diving cutter and a Gringo Killer for the win.

It was a fun match and really interesting. You had all guys get a little bit of offense in and focused more on the physical side of Homicide. Homicide fits the bill in an X-Division match against Samoa Joe. I really did not get Storm and The Great Sanada coming out and attacking Manik. They drag him to the back. I feel like this is a way for Sanada to be seen, nothing more. What does TNA have in store? Is has to be Sanada turning on Storm, right? He has to reach a breaking point before Bound for Glory.

Championship Showcase

Lashley and Samoa Joe start off fast. Joe punches Lashley in the stomach, but the world champ throws him into the steel steps. Lashley grabs Joe and punches him around the ring. Both men throw some big blows. Joe catches Lashley and drops him with a side suplex. Joe hits a spinning heel kick and then kicks him in the corner. Lashley gets going and hits a few huge shoulder thrusts. Joe locks in a choke hold. Lashley connects with a neckbreaker. The pace slows down with some submission holds. Joe sits atop the rope and Lashley takes him down with a running powerslam. He sets up for a spear and Joe kicks him. Joe locks in the rear naked choke. Kenny King comes out and distracts Joe. Lashley hits a full nelson suplex for a two count. He follows it with a Spear and picks up the win.

Physical. Intense. This was a heavyweight fight between two big athletes. I was impressed to see Joe hang with Lashley in terms of speed and agility. There is really nobody better in TNA than Lashley in the ring. The guy is a freak of nature and his speed and size cannot be matched. Roode vs. Lashley could be a 5 star match. I am more interested to see how they build the feud. That will make or break their championship match.
