Mark Henry and Big Show defeated Luke Harper and Erick Rowan
WWE Raw Reaction starts with this rematch from Smackdown.
Mark Henry hits headbutts to Rowan to get the upper hand. Harper gets a big boot to the face and Henry tags in Big Show. Show slaps Harper and punches at his stomach. Big Show hits a body slam followed by more slaps to the chest. Finally, we get back from break and have Harper getting the upper hand. He hits multiple uppercuts and slaps him in the throat. Rowan punches away and splashes onto Big Show.
Rowan hits a massive body slam for a two count. Henry gets a hot tag and cleans the ring. Mark Henry hits World’s Strongest Slam for the win.
I am against Big Show and Mark Henry as a full-time tag team because I am a firm believer that tag team partners need to be different. They have the EXACT same style and lack some creativity in storyline building. It will always be “David vs. Goliath” type of feuds for them. With that being said, I was very impressed with this match. Power vs. Power worked well tonight because Harper is different enough and kept the pace up when it needed to be.
Paige defeated Natalya
Paige and Natalya start off grappling, trying to get an upper hand. Nattie takes her down a few times and then Paige reverses it into a pinfall attempt. Paige kicks Natalya in the back of the head. She climbs on top of Natalya and rams her head onto Nattie’s skull. AJ Lee comes out and skips around the ring. Natalya rolls up Paige and gets the win.
Eh, this was not that great for me. The games of AJ Lee vs. Paige continue, but they just recycled the past few weeks of storylines. When will distracting around the ring finally end? AJ says she loves Paige and tries to flip the switch. AJ Lee says she dedicates her life to Paige. AJ says she needs to shake her hand. Paige escapes and we basically get two crazy girls and we do not know which is crazier. Does this have longevity? I like the feud, but I want some more originality.
The Miz defeated Dolph Ziggler via Count Out
The match took about 10 minutes of total TV time and was pretty good. It was nowhere near as good as last night, but WWE focused on building the feud even more after tonight. With The Miz winning via count out, he will get another opportunity in the near future. I can see these guys going at Night of Champions in a Ladder Match. Even more so now, with Ziggler’s injured knee being a focal point tonight. Ziggler and Miz are both really good in their gimmicks and they continue to bring a boost of energy into the IC title.
