X-Division Scramble
Tigre Uno eliminates Crazy Steve in the beginning and Manik gets into the ring. Uno hits a hurricanranna after tight roping the top rope. Manik takes down Tigre Uno and hits a springboard dropkick for a two count. Manik hits his finisher and Uno is out. Manik ends up getting eliminated by DJ Zema Ion. Low Ki and Homicide work on DJ Z. Ki and Homicide face off after DJ Z gets eliminated. Homicide avoids a corner clothesline and goes for a Gringo Killer, but Ki reverses it and lands on his feet. He hits a Ki Crusher for the win.
I thought this elimination type match was slow paced and was too mechanical. I did not feel a smooth feel and the eliminations were too quick. It seemed like all guys got one or two really good moves in, but that was it. They could have had more than a few good spots given more time and depth in the story of the match.
Rockstar Spud yells at the crowd and EC3 talks about how terrible it was for his aunt to get put through a table. EC3 wants Bully Ray to be terminated. Kurt Angle comes out and says that he can either get out of the ring or wrestle. EC3 gets cuffed and is taken out by New York City’s finest.
Alright, I did not mind this segment. The cops take out the bad guys, something we have seen time and time again in this sport. I want to focus more on Ethan Carter III. The guy is a star. He is so natural and so throw back as a heel. He knows how to get the fans to boo him and knows what to say. I really enjoy his work and think he could be big money in the major leagues of wrestling. The guy has a great look, one where the size of his body does not slow down his speed. In time, he could be a really big deal and could be someone a company can build around. I just hope he gets another big chance to showcase his abilities.
Ken Anderson vs. Gunner ends in No Contest
Anderson begins to work on his arm until Gunner hits a back body drop for a two count. Anderson hits a few elbow strikes and they brawl back and forth. They hold each other’s head and punches repeatedly. Samuel Shaw runs in and takes down Anderson after a strike.
This was an odd segment. Anderson vs. Shaw is a feud we have seen before. Why are they friends? Where is depth to their characters? This segment bombed and was brutal. Too bad because I normally enjoy watching these guys do their thing.
