Title This: Destination X Review “Tag Team Wrestling At It’s Finest”

destination x reviewSamoa Joe defeated Homicide and Tigre Uno

The match starts off fast from the very beginning. Homicide hits a hurricanranna and Homicide flies to the outside and knocks out both men. Joe and Homicide battle back and forth, blow for blow. Homicide hits a Diamond Cutter for a two count. Joe hits a belly to belly suplex and crashes into him in the corner. Uno gets himself back into the ring and Joe clotheslines him and send Homicide to the mat. Joe catches Homicide and hits a side suplex. Homicide is set up to the top and tries a Muscle Buster.

Homicide saves himself and Uno gets to the top rope. Tigre Uno misses a crossbody and Joe slaps Homicide in the chest. Muscle Buster and Joe picks up the win.

This was much better than the Low Ki match because they focused on their strengths, added some pieces to the offensive styles of Joe, and really kept it smooth. Joe picks up the win and you have to imagine Joe winning the 3-Way next week to become X-Division Championship. I enjoyed the logical booking here and making Joe look like a monster. I give plenty of credit to Homicide for really shining in the spot he was given.

Lashley defeated Austin Aries to retain the TNA World Heavyweight Championship

Aries works on Lashley with kicks to his legs. Smart, as Aries needs to logically chop down the champion. Lashley gets a big b0ot to the face and Aries tries to lock in Last Chancery. Aries tries a big move from the top, but Lashley hits a belly to belly suplex on the outside. We get back from break and Lashley wrenches the stomach of his opponent. Aries breaks free and begins to punch Lashley in the corner. He hits big strikes and then goes up top to punch his head. Aries hangs the top rope and Lashley is sent to the outside. Double sledge off the top and Lashley is reeling. Aries hits a neckbreaker and goes up top. He hits a missle dropkick.

Lashley catches Aries in the air and hits a powerslam. Aries locks in Last Chancery and Lashley is close to tapping out. Lashley hits a front suplex and tosses him across the ring. Lashley misses a spear attempt and Aries kicks him into the turnbuckle. After a few big forearms, Aries hits a full speed dropkick to his face. Aries hits a Brainbuster, but Lashley kicks out at two. Aries goes up top and Lashley rolls to the outside. Aries went for the Suicide Dive, but misses and crashes into the steel barricade. (Wow)

Here comes the champion, back in the ring. He sets him up and connects with the Spear. Aries takes it like a champion, even though he could not beat the champion.

Another main event on Impact and another great bout. You can tell Lashley is at the top of his game right now. He has an incredible balance of size, strength, speed and intelligence. I give plenty of credit to Austin Aries, who really kept the intense pace up. My favorite part is that MVP and Kenny King did not need to help Lashley. Sometimes, a champion needs a clean win. Lashley and Aries put on one hell of a match.

This match completed a really great night of action. For Team Bully vs. Team EC3, they had two great promos to hype up next week’s big main event. I just really thought this show was built strong from top to bottom. The talent on display here was fantastic and the action kept my interest for the entire two hours.
