Title This: WWE Smackdown Reaction “Finishing Touches on Battleground”

Paige and AJ Lee defeated Layla and Summer Rae

wwe smackdown reactionLayla locks in a submission move to Paige to get her offense going. Summer Rae comes in and hits a boot to her chest. Paige head butts Summer Rae and then tosses Layla to the outside. She hits a clothesline and a kick to the chest. AJ Lee makes a blind tag and locks in Black Widow for the win.

The match was exactly what it needed to be. AJ Lee stole the win from her “friend.” Paige looks upset because she wanted the win and AJ Lee puts her hand out to shake. Paige grabs her and gives her a hug.

It is strange why WWE went this way, but it will open up a more aggressive and angry “Anti-Diva” in Paige. I just wish they were given more time to build the rematch and make it more important.

Dean Ambrose defeated Kane via disqualification

Ambrose starts off hot only to get a huge chop to the neck. Kane hits a big boot to Ambrose’s face. He works on the injured arm of Ambrose throughout the match. Ambrose fights back and reverses a big maneuver from Kane.  Dean Ambrose hangs the top rope and then hits a suicide dive onto Kane. He rams Kane’s head into the mat, but Kane drives Ambrose into the steel steps.

Seth Rollins comes from behind and hits him with a briefcase. He punches away at Dean Ambrose and the heels are in control. Kane hits a chokeslam and Rollins hits a Curb Stomp on the steel steps.

Great ending for a Smackdown show that was not bad at all. I thought it was going to be wasted because Raw was actually pretty good, but they added more intrigue to matches that needed it.

Ambrose/Rollins could be magic at Battleground.  Thank God WWE let some heels stand tall to end the night. It has really only been Reigns, Cena and the faces ending the night on top. It creates more drama and intrigue.
