Harper and Rowan attack The Uso’s
This is a prime example of WWE not having enough depth in a certain division. They have fought time and time again. They have had excellent matches and a really good feud. They do not need single’s matches on Raw anymore. They do not need non-title matches anymore. Harper and Rowan attacking them was bascially all that they could do to really mix it up a bit. I was not impressed and thought it landed flat in front of the live audience. I would have loved to see a promo cut by Harper.
Detente Between United States and Russia
Lana talks about how the United States and Zeb Colter are stupid. She yells that they should shut up. She asks Zeb to apologize and he calls Rusev Bullwinkle. He talks about his war background and says he is not going to apologize to her. The crowd is electric in chanting USA. Lana says there is hope for USA and the man to help is Vladimir Putin. Colter asks when Rusev will be a man and step in front of the woman. Rusev says this is war and that is a yes to him. Colter says “We The People.” Lana slaps Colter and Swagger takes down Rusev. Rusev tosses Swagger into the podium and then crashes into his body in the corner. Rusev tries for the big kick but Swagger gets him in the Patriot Lock. Rusev escapes and the segment ends with the US standing tall.
Wow, I loved it. I absolutely loved it. This was an incredible segment that really enhanced Swagger, Rusev, Lana and Colter. This is brilliant writing and something that has taken us all by surprise. I am going to hate to see it end, if it does, on Sunday. Swagger has never been hotter in WWE and he has not even had to speak to get there. Not all Anti-American storylines work, but this one does. It is so natural and so real.
Cameron and Alicia Fox defeated Nikki Bella
This was a match that was ordered by Stephanie McMahon to basically punish Nikki for what her sister has done. The match saw little offense and was not really interesting to me. This feud isn’t interesting to me, especially not being able to see Brie involved each week. They are drawing it out too long and it loses steam each week.
Big E defeated Cesaro
Big E hits a side suplex onto Cesaro to get the offense going. Cesaro hits massive clubs to the back of Big E. Cesaro hits a double hook powerbomb and punches away at Big E. Big E fires back with a belly to belly suplex. He gets him with a shoulder and another belly to belly. He is ready to set him up for the Big Ending. Cesaro grabs a chair and Kingston steals the chair from him. Big E hits his finisher and picks up the win.
It was a physical and intense match. Kofi helps his buddy out to distract Cesaro enough to pick up the loss. I can’t say that I like the ending, but I do feel that WWE is mismanaging Cesaro right now. Where was Paul Heyman?
Bo Dallas defeated The Great Khali
Bo Dallas picks up another cheap win, this time with a count out on Khali after hitting Bo Dog from the apron.
AJ Lee defeated Eva Marie
Paige and AJ hype up their championship match and their “respect” for one another. If Paige loses again, how does WWE counter another title match? If she wins, well… she won’t. Eva Marie didn’t look terrible tonight, looking a little more comfortable in the ring and between moves.
