Step Up: Chris Jericho vs. Bray Wyatt
I had very mixed feelings about Chris Jericho’s recent WWE return – until Bray Wyatt came out with his eerie Family and beat him down. Jericho’s other returns – 2008/09 withstanding – have been a mixed bag, trying to give back to some of the up-and-coming stars with varying levels of success.
Y2J really shines when he has an opponent who can trade promos with him. A guy that he can put over, but is willing to do his share of the work to make the match truly special. CM Punk, Dolph Ziggler, Shawn Michaels, John Cena – all great feuds. Fandango? Not so much… When you look at the quality of Bray Wyatt’s programs over the past year – Cena, The Shield, Daniel Bryan – it’s not too much to assume his upcoming match and feud with Jericho, which will likely extend to SummerSlam, will be one of the best parts of 2014.
