You Have Spoken – Wrestlezone’s Top 10 Things Our Readers Want to See From Jeff Jarrett’s Global Force Wrestling Promotion

#6 – John Morrison

There were three popular answers to the "which stars would you like to see in GFW" question on our survey – CM Punk, AJ Styles and John Morrison.

file_188043_2_miz-morrisonJOHN MORRISON. One of those names is a household brand and the longest reigning WWE Champion of the modern era, another is a long-time TNA original who is the current IWGP Champion, and the other is JOHN MORRISON. After John there is a 60% drop to the next candidate, Kurt Angle. Then Kevin Steen, then another 50% drop to Shelton Benjamin, Chris Hero, Carlito and Colt Cabana.

The thing is, Morrison (aka Hennigan) has kept himself relevant since leaving the WWE. He hasn't been in giant Hollywood blockbusters or created his own yoga craze, but he's a consistent presence on the US independent scene, and he makes his way to the news sites just enough to stick in the back of people's minds. When I ask "who is the biggest or best free agent on the market?" the name people jump to immediately – and now we have data to back this up – is the former 5-time WWE tag team champion.

At 34-years-old it isn't likely Vince or Hunter is going to come calling for a multi-million dollar deal and a shot at the title. Would I rule out a return at all? No. He's still a good talent, but you have to ask – why have they waited so long? If that trigger was going to be pulled, it should have probably been pulled already. So in my mind, if Morrison doesn't want to go to TNA (or, in the unlikely event that TNA isn't interested in him), where else is he going to go?

Japan is an option. There's always money to be made outside of the US. He could stay on the indie scene working for good companies like FWE. Or he could look at the overwhelming amount of people that said "hey, we want John Morrison in GFW" and sign on the dotted line. Jeff, Karen, John – don't miss out.
