Wrestlezone’s Top 10: Reasons to Watch Ring of Honor “Global Wars” This Weekend

#7 – New Japan Pro Wrestling

Now, as to why you should specifically watch "Border Wars" this Saturday. New Japan is having the time of their lives right now. 2013 was arguably the best year in their company's history. This year has been all about the growth of the Bullet Club, which we'll talk about later. They have the best wrestlers on the planet, and their fans are hardcore WRESTLING fans. They don't mess around. Except with Gracie fighters, for some reason.

Saturday's iPPV is a Ring of Honor vs. New Japan event. Both companies are taking their top guys and throwing together matches with some of the best wrestlers from all around the planet. "War of the Worlds" is next Saturday, and is more of that, with what I would consider an equal (if not better) card. If Michael Elgin vs. Takaaki Watanabe is a dream match of yours, this is likely the only time you're going to see it happen.

If you've never seen the NJPW product listing off a bunch of names won't mean anything to you. The do have Alex Shelley and the Young Bucks. There's always Jushin "Thunder" Liger that EVERYONE knows. But it's guys like Okada, Tanahashi, and Nakamura that you need to see at least once in your life. There are a lot of people that want to watch Japanese style wrestling, that just can't get into it because they need commentary. I understand that. This is one of the rare times you can watch all the best that New Japan has to offer in an American wrestling company, with English announcers. Take advantage of that. You will not be disappointed.
