4/27 Wrestlezone Recap: Lots of WWE News This Week, Plus TNA Sacrifice, Bad Promoters on the Indie Scene & More

cm punkDaniel Bryan's father passed away unexpectedly this past week, prior to Monday Night Raw going on the air. The WWE World Heavyweight Champion did appear on Raw despite this, and was obviously very emotional. They wrote him off for awhile by having Kane come out and Tombstone him three different times around the ringside area, including into the commentary table. However, Bryan did say that he plans on competing this coming week on Raw, so we'll see what happens.

-The last two people remaining in the Intercontinental Championship tournament are Bad News Barrett and Rob Van Dam. RVD defeated Cesaro by count-out this past week on Raw, while Barrett went over Sheamus. The two will face off this week on Raw, with the winner going on to Extreme Rules to face Big E for the title.

TNA News

brooke tessmacher still signedBoth Brooke Tessmacher and Taryn Terrell are still with TNA, and both are expected to make their return to Impact Wrestling in the near future. Taryn was doing some great work, improving each week until taking time off due to pregnancy. Tessmacher is looking to get into the real estate game, planning her post-wrestling future. Those two names added to Gail Kim, ODB, Madison Rayne, Velvet Sky, the returning Angelina Love, and rookies Alpha Female and Brittany make for a pretty solid Knockouts roster.

TNA Sacrifice is live on PPV tonight from Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. The main events are Eric Young vs. Magnus, Bully Ray vs. Bobby Roode and an "I Quit" Match between Gunner and James Storm. The rest of the card looks pretty solid as well. Wrestlezone will of course have live coverage of the entire PPV.

-A lot of people in TNA are upset, apparently, because they have no idea what is happening with the creative team, or the creative direction of the company. Everything seems like a giant secret backstage, with creative and management not keeping the flow of communication open with the talent. These are rumors, so take that with a grain of salt.
