Who Are You Trying to Kid?

eric youngIn a recent interview with Bleacher Report, TNA “world” “heavyweight” “champion” (cough) Eric Young said:

“It’s crazy to hear people say stuff like, ‘Eric Young is quite possibly the most entertaining wrestler in the world today.'"

NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON HAS EVER SAID THAT. So, yes, it would be crazy to hear that. It could be a warning sign for early-onset dementia. What a mark.

Young proceeded to draw a parallel between himself and Daniel Bryan: “I definitely see the comparisons. We both have sweet beards, we both won two matches, we’re both world heavyweight champions and I don’t think either of us are prototypical champions. That’s what makes us special.”

Young should wear clown shoes instead of wrestling boots. No one knows who he is. But he’s comparing himself to the most over wrestler in the world’s biggest company.

Young is a second-rate wrestler in a second-rate promotion. He got his “world” title because TNA tried to parrot Bryan’s chase without doing any of the things that made it good. There was no journey. It was insignificant and stupid.

When Young does media, he has to put himself over. He can’t do himself and TNA any good if he makes himself sound like the bum that he is.

But making himself sound stupid doesn’t help, either.

“That’s what makes us special.” STFU, jabroni. That’s absurd.

Young is no world champion. Not even on the TNA level. What sense does it make to have Young as “world” “champion” when you’ve got Jeff Hardy, Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe and any number of more credible and deserving performers?

This is vintage TNA. Just when you think it can’t get any more embarrassing, it does. TNA is the No. 5 promotion in the country. WWE, ROH, Global Force, Extreme Rising, then TNA. Global Force is ahead of TNA because I can’t possibly watch it yet. I already watch too much bad wrestling. Extreme Rising ranks ahead of TNA because they did the right thing and pulled the plug.

How long before Austin Aries hits the Chippendales old-timer’s circuit?
