4/13 Wrestlezone Recap: Evolution Reunion, WrestleMania Fallout, #CancelNancyGrace, New World Champions, EY vs. D-Bry and more

#CancelNancyGrace

This seemed to be the week of incompetent journalism, following the death of The Ultimate Warrior. Former CNN reporter Nancy Grace – or as I like to call her, "a moron" – had Diamond Dallas Page on her show to "talk about the Ultimate Warrior". This was really a platform for Grace to spew venom about pro wrestling, steroid and drug abuse, and all the wrestlers who have died way too young. She put up a list that included Owen Hart. Anybody who knows anything about wrestling knows how absolutely ludicrous that implication is. Unless Owen happened to be shooting up as he fell to his death, Nancy needs to get her head out of her [PG].

DDP would later say he regretted the appearance, as he just wanted to talk about Warrior and honor his legacy.

As I discussed with Johnny Landin on this week's podcast, there is a discussion to be had about pro wrestling and the abuse of steroids. But that discussion should NOT be had by Nancy Grace, who couldn't converse her way out of a paper bag if you gave her cue cards. Grace clearly knows nothing about wrestling, or any of the guys and gals that have literally given their life for the business. That interview was a disgrace and slap in the face to wrestling fans, and journalists.

ESPN's Colin Coward – sorry, Cowherd (because that's better?) – also took to the airwaves this week to be a complete tool about professional wrestling. The same overused rhetoric about pimple-faced geeks living in their parent's basements. Then later in the week he blasted a CM PUNK PARODY ACCOUNT, claiming the former WWE Champion was defending the Ultimate Warrior.

Look guys, sometimes we screw up. Everyone does. Every once in awhile we're going to get a story wrong – it happens. Just scroll back a few pages and you'll find three completely different stories that were reported on, and then taken back. But if a mistake is made, apologies are issued, the story is updated and life moves on. But these guys are BIG NAMES making incredibly insulting remarks about real people, with real families, and not a single apology or recant has been issued. There likely never will be. Pro wrestling if fake, so nobody in the mainstream cares when you treat it like garbage.

Oh, and not even I could confuse a parody account for the real CM Punk, and that is saying something.
