#5 – Tag Team Turmoil
This isn't so much as one singles match as it is another failed concept for this year's WrestleMania pay-per-view. I know I seem like I'm really down on this year's show, and that's because I am. The build has been awful; not a single episode of Raw has felt like a "Road to WrestleMania" broadcast. The tag team division is just one of many examples of why things haven't been running smoothly.
In the last three months there has been tension teased between the Real Americans, Cody Rhodes and Goldust, and The Shield. Not to mention the rumors that 3MB was going to split up, the rumors that Rybaxel was done, and the fact that the Prime Time Players and Tons of Funk had already been split up. So it seems like somebody in the office said, "wait a minute, we can't kill the entire tag team division at the same time." And so they pumped the breaks on several of the feuds brewing, and instead booked this last minute fatal-four-way match for WrestleMania. Instead of 3-5 teams splitting up and getting a payoff at WrestleMania, none of them are.
Cody and Goldust staying together only makes sense if Goldust has plans to stick around long-term. Everyone wants to see that match, but it isn't high on my priority list for this year's Mania card. The Real Americans would have produced a good match, and I'm sick of babyfaces getting left out in the cold because they have to try and draw a pop against the super over Cesaro. Cesaro's popularity is a huge reason why The Usos aren't as over as they should be as babyface champions. That and several years of bad booking.
It would have been nice to see ANY of these matches unfold at WrestleMania. Any of them.
