Wrestlezone’s Top Ten: Triple H Matches at WrestleMania

WrestleMania XXVIII

The Undertaker def. Triple H

After the Undertaker's WrestleMania streak became the biggest prize in pro wrestling history, the usual trend was for challengers to come face-to-face with the Phenom, begging him for a shot at immortality. But after 'Taker was carted out of WrestleMania XXVII, unable to stand after their second encounter, the story was flipped on its head. Instead, not satisfied with barely forcing the Game to tap out, the Undertaker went a little psychotic, shaving his head bald and stalking the Game until he finally acquiesced to his demand: one more war on the biggest stage of them all.

While nothing was technically on the line, the WWE booked this match as the "end of an era". The outlaw and the sheriff of an age gone by, colliding inside the most personal structure in history, Hell in a Cell, one final time. As if the drama of this one wasn't built up enough, Shawn Michaels was inserted into this match as the special guest referee. Maybe there was never a doubt in people's mind that the streak would remain intact, but for 30 minutes at WrestleMania XXVII, those three guys challenged your perceptions of the possible.

Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but I happen to think this amazing contest was every bit as good as the Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels matches – take your pick, they're both perfect, as was this.
