Title This: 2014 WWE Elimination Chamber Reaction “WWE Did The Right Thing”

Big E defeated Jack Swagger to retain the WWE Intercontinental Championship

Reaction: I was very impressed with how WWE booked this match. Going in, I could easily have seen Big E dominate and pick up a quick victory. Jack Swagger actually worked over E pretty good throughout the match. The athletic big men put on an impressive display of strength and speed. Big E had some great spots, led by the spear to the outside. Swagger was able to lift Big E a few times and hit some great powerbombs. As the match continued, Big E finally got to his spot and hit his finisher, kicking out of a Patriot Lock. The action was fast and very aggressive. I wonder if WWE will give us this rematch on Raw because the booking of it was fantastic.

What's Next: Big E needs to find a guy similar to Swagger to feud with for 5 weeks. He needs to build up a feud and really get to the point where he can rely on his personality and his charisma to stand out. That is something we have not seen yet. For Swagger, I could see him and Cesaro grab the tag titles or even face The Uso's or Outlaws at WrestleMania. They are too good to leave off the card.

The New Age Outlaws defeated The Uso's to retain the WWE Tag Team Championship

Reaction: I had high expectations for this match being one of the more exciting matches of the night. First off, The New Age Outlaws need to be either a heel or face, no in between. With that being said, the match was booked oddly for me. There was never a team that really dominated the match, but was more of a mechanical match. I really did not feel a flow to it and did not get completely invested into what was going to happen. Jimmy and Jey took their offense to new heights, flying all over the ring and getting the upper hand. When Jimmy hit a superkick onto Road Dogg, Billy Gunn rolled up him for the win. The finish was not to my liking because it was a clean pin. The Uso's should have either won or gotten screwed over somehow. I really think the time is ticking for them as champions. It has been a year since they really have developed and gotten to a point of relevancy. Now would be the time for them, a younger team with plenty of experience (ironically) to carry the straps.

What's Next: The Outlaws will either drop the titles to them in the next week or two or they will be champions heading into WrestleMania XXX against new opponents. WWE could also give us some sort of Fatal Four Way match at Mania for the Tag Team Championship, keeping Jimmy and Jey relevant, adding The Real Americans and possibly someone with Rey Mysterio.

Score: 5/10
